Rhapis excelsa - Broadleaf Lady Palm

The leaves of the Rhapis excelsa are divided into 5 to 12 pointy-ended pieces and its stems are clothed in a brown fibrous sheath like hessian. 

Lady Palms are quite cold tolerant and will grow well in frost-free temperate climates.

They are best suited to semi-shaded parts of the garden and used as indoor potted plants.

They are slow growing and so can remain in the same pot for many years.
