Ginkgo biloba - Maidenhair Tree

A large hardy and deciduous tree with very interesting fan shaped leaves which are a light green in spring and changing to a spectacular gold/yellow colour in autumn.

Please be aware that these trees are either Male or Female and alot of the time undetermined either sex whilst still in the nursery and will not be discovered until some time after planting.  However there are certain growers that have Male specific trees. 

The male will produce flowers but no fruit and the female tend to produce smelly fruit/seed/ginkgo nut.

Positioning: Full sun to part shade in well draining soil

Tolerances: Frost tolerant, protect from strong winds
