Magnolias - Deciduous

We stock a vast variety of other deciduous Magnolia varieties aside from the most popular Magnolia x soulangeana (which is listed individually on our site) here. 

These varieties are all deciduous which means they will drop their foliage for winter, however spectacular stunning displays of different coloured flowers appear in mid to late winter through to spring, depending on the variety.

There is a perfect sized variety for all gardens - read below!

Magnolia 'Vulcan' 

A hybrid variety with beautifully scented deep magenta coloured flowers appearing in late winter.   Large green foliage follows in spring. 

Magnolia 'Felix' 

A hybrid variety with beautifully perfumed deep purple/pink coloured flowers fading to light pink as they age, appearing in mid to late winter to spring on bare branches.   

Following by light green foliage turning brown in Autumn.

Magnolia 'Star Wars' 

Prized for its longer flowering periods and fragrant huge (up to 25-30cm) mid pink coloured flowers, fading to white at the tips, which emerge from deep pink buds.

Following by large dark green foliage turning golden shades in Autumn.

It's a fast grower with upright branching form.  Protect from winds. 

Magnolia 'Black Tulip' 

Features dark purple flowers which provide a beautiful display in late winter through to spring on bare branches before any foliage appears. 

Protect from strong winds.

Magnolia dentata 'Yulan' 

A larger grower with a rounded form, featuring white flowers instead of the usual pink/purple shades.  The flowers appear on bare branches from late winter to early spring, with a slight citrus scent.

Protect from hot and winds.
