Betula nigra is a fast growing and attractive medium sized deciduous tree with pretty lush green foliage that turns pale yellow and drops off late Autumn. A grey/white trunk is revealed with maturity after the red/brown bark flakes off.
Betula nigra BNMTF 'Dura Heat'™ is moderately fast growing with a wide range of environmental tolerances including heat, moderate drought & wet tolerant. It's foliage is dark green in summer turning to butter-yellow shades in autumn before dropping.
Betula nigra is the best Birch for growing in the warmer States, suiting warmer to cold climates and both varieties are grown in both NSW and QLD climates.
